The age of artificial intelligence has dawned, and it is now a daily reality. AI has countless benefits and drawbacks; AI has the potential to change the world. The reality of people passing off AI-generated content as their own is all too common, which has rapidly led to the creation of AI detectors. AI detectors are a useful yet highly risky tool.

The headlines gun violence, mass shootings, and domestic terrorism are topics that are all too familiar in the news. On an almost daily basis, we hear about yet another mass shooting that has left many either dead or injured. My topic is personal security, and my case study is going to be the March 15th terror attacks in Christchurch New Zealand.

A year ago, I could never have imagined that I could be halfway around the world for an entire year. I’m one week in and it’s been crazy. We’ve been to The PNE Fair, Cultus Lake Water Park, Vancouver Island, and I’ve gone mountain biking. I’ve even had my first day of school.

I’ve been in Canada for two months as of tomorrow and it’s been a wild ride. It feels like I’ve seen the entire country, yet I’ve hardly scraped the surface. I’ve been to Ottawa and Montreal, I’ve been to Fightnights, and I’ve been through a school lockdown which has been the most North American thing yet. But the craziest thing yet is the number of bears I’ve seen.

It used to be smoke and mirrors, now it is steam and mirror selfies. In 2006 vaping hit the streets and schools of New Zealand. Since then, it has only grown in popularity, but very few people know the dangers of that raspberry cola vape juice they are inhaling.

Smoking has been around for almost two centuries, but it was only in the 1960s that people noticed a problem. Vaping has been around for 19 years but did not become popular until 2007 so, compared to cigarettes and many other drugs, it is in its infancy. Many of the risks of vaping are unknown. Vaping has taken many schools by storm. This is especially evident at Wellington High School where there are many students vaping.
